I've been mapping out buildings around hereish: https://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=19/39.62099/-77.41590 I subscribe to the "map out all of the sidewalks" camp and have decided to also mark off (albeit poorly) the footpaths that lead to the front door of each of the row homes. Should I connect these to the row houses or should I have them stop just short of the front? Or is it recommended that I just don't map those little foot paths at all? asked 06 Nov '14, 16:08 zellfaze |
You can continue the footways up to the building and connect both if this position corresponds to an entrance. In that case you should also add an entrance tag, for example entrance=main if this resembles the main entrance of the building or just entrance=yes if not or you are unsure about it. For main entrances it is even useful to move the address to the entrance node so that routers can lead you directly to the main entrance of the building. answered 06 Nov '14, 16:23 scai ♦ |
