I don't really know how to say this shortly. I am using the online editor, and lately when I try to edit a way by adding a point, it will make an invisible point and then get really weird, like stop showing the way and only show the points, the opposite show way with no points even when selected, if it is a area way. the area will disappear along with the way just leaving the points. I wish i could describe it better, but a lot of things start to go wrong all at once. It always starts when I try to add a new point to a way in the middle by clicking on the little triangle and dragging. Then it creates the invisible point that i cant move or edit or select.

Whats going on? It just started.

Edit: Sorry basic info: username is Sunfishtommy. Google Chrome on Mac, with the online editor you get by going to openstreetmap.com and hitting edit.

Edit2: I am using the iD editor.

I'm guessing, from your username and edits made by that username, that you're using the "iD" editor (which has just been updated).

What would help to identify the problem would be if you could say what browser and what operating system you are using.

According to the developers "this'll be fixed in 1.6.2.". So just wait a while and it'll start working again.
