How should be tagged roundabout with multiphase traffic light?
This place has own name (roundabout ...). Traffic is the same as on 4 crossroads near each other. Only in a situation when traffic lights is not working all drive in this place like as the normal roundabout. asked 19 Oct '14, 22:53 LafarM edited 20 Oct '14, 00:06 aseerel4c26 ♦ |
One Answer:
I'd map it as a roundabout because it's functionally a single junction. answered 20 Oct '14, 00:15 Baloo Uriza |
I prefer roundabout too but I get info from OSM users in Poland that condition "the traffic on the roundabout has right of way" is not fulfilled in this case and I should add tags as for normal oneway streets with 4 crossroads.
In the UK these are still mapped as roundabouts, and I'm sure we had a discussion about it some years ago. Here are some local examples: http://osm.org/go/eu8Yeh_5u and (rather more complex) http://osm.org/go/eu8ZKL4yF. I think the clinching argument was how would traffic behave if the lights were not working. In the example there is a standard roundabout symbol which implies traffic on the roundabout has priority, the lights merely altering the flow.
