There is a major shopping complex near me with multiple buildings. Open Maps only contain the interior ring roads but no buildings. These buildings are in satellite photos on Google Maps and Google Earth . How do I add them?

Hi Pesach46, you have made an account already so after reading the Wiki, a practical hint. Try to obtain a map of the shopping complex from the owner or operator and use it together with a GPS to collect the corner points of the building(s) and draw it as good as it gets in OSM and add the ways of the parking lot afterwards.

Welcome, we're happy that you are willing to make OSM better.

To do so, you first need an account on osm.org Then you can start editing. There are a number of tutorials available for newbies like you on the wiki . You can search this help site as well for the links

When you start the edit button a number of satellite images will be available to trace the buildings. Note that Google is not among them. We are not allowed to trace from their (Google's) images.

So hopefully the images from the other providers (e.g. Bing or MapBox) are recent enough to show the buildings (because we are allowed to use those special images).

happy mapping
