Hallo, habe mir gerade einige Europakarten herruntergeladen.

Google Translation:-Hello, I've just downloaded some mr European maps. All ending with MAP. I have a Garmin EDGE 810 and want to save the new map on an SD. To be used for road cycling! Now the questions. 1 Can I combine all so I can make a card from it? 2 Do I need for a program and if so, which one? 3 How do I get the maps on my 810 to the SD card? 4 How do I activate the card, so I can route it or display?

Thanks for your help

a link to where you found the german.map would help. It is likely that they are raster maps and not the .img Garmin type ... Perhaps someone in Europe is more familiar with these and how you can use them.

I suspect the .map files might be for android appications.

You might like to look at http://www.velomap.org/ The maps are specifically for cyclists. There is a very helpful information site which is available in German language.
