Hi all. First, I love the support on this forum! I also downloaded and openstreetmap for Costa Rica. It was already compacted into a gmapsupp.img file. I have the GARMIN folder on the device and copied this file into. When I reboot the device (Garmin Nuvi 255W) I have Canada and Costa Rica, and can find CR cities, but I cannot see the roads....all I get is a message that a satellite cannot be found. Shouldn't I still see the CR map even if I have no signal? The Canadian map shows fine.

Thanks!

From the error message you mention, can we assume you are indoors ? In such case you might get the error that no satellites can be found. Correctly installed maps will still be shown in such case (at least on my Garmin Dakota). The map will probably be positioned on the last spot where you got satellite reception. (Which is somewhere in Canada ?)

Can you move the map to Costa Rica and zoom in ? Do you see roads there ?

For me the error message has nothing to do with the Costa Rica map. For a correct installation look at SomeoneElse comment
