Why not ask your question on the new OpenStreetMap Community Forum?

I'm wondering why the names of bus stops aren't displayed in the regular map.

For instance: (link)

There are several bus stops along this road (Grenseveien), but the names of the stops aren't visible. The bus stops ARE named - I can see the names when I go into the editor, but not in the regular map.

I think this is inconvenient. Is it supposed to be like this? Maybe there's a view-setting I've missed?

Boy, do I feel stupid.. I guess I'll answer my own question:

Hit "Layers" and then "Transport Map" in the right side menu.

That's one possibility, indeed.

There are many more maps made of the same OSM data. The layer menu on our homepage is just a selection. See Tiles or services: transport. Just for example: ÖPNVKarte (link to your location) is similar to the transport map and also shows the name. Our standard style simply does not show names of highway=bus_stop nodes. Likely this is intended to not add tooo much information into this map. Or was it different in the past? I do not remember.
