I would like to set the OS: Windows 7 64, browser: Chrome 36, OSM editor: iD. asked 14 Aug '14, 12:27 Kotya aseerel4c26 ♦ |
Hi kotya, select all the ways you want to ad the tag to by pressing the ctrl button and keep it pressed, select them carefully with the mouse pointer and don’t add a node to the selection. When ready with selecting start adding the tags in the tag menu. If the ways are present don’t change anything else then the speed limits, save it afterwards and its done. answered 14 Aug '14, 12:44 Hendrikklaas 2
iD doesn't allow multiple select with "control". It does with "shift", but once selected multiple items can only be deleted, so this method will not work.

@SomeoneElse is right. However, I've just tried Potlatch. It was not straightforward to find the tags there at all, but Google helps. There selection is done, indeed, with Ctrl and I can apply a tag to multiple items. No way to do the same in iD? Because iD, unlike Potlatch, suggests tags, which is very useful.

@Kotya: try the editor JOSM, it could be suited better for you and your task. With its find function you could also save much clicking for selecting the multiple objects.

I believe the questioner is using the iD editor.
@SomeoneElse, correct, thanks, question updated. However I would appreciate other solutions as well. See my related question: https://help.openstreetmap.org/questions/35817/
