Quite a couple of weeks ago, i was pleased to find some new details about the Hamburg harbor, exactly naming each one of them. Why is it gone now? Is there any way to have them displayed again? I don't find it a good idea, to remove information, once it has been gathered.

Additional info:

I'm talking about following part:

http://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=16/53.5200/9.9711

On the left side we had "Stettiner Ufer", at the right side it was "Roeloffsufer", or in

http://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=16/53.5314/9.9637

there are two harbors, Kuhwerder Hafen, and Kaiser-Wilhelm-Hafen, which had all the names for the different Kais written next to them. I noticed it just about 2 months or so ago, so it seemed to be brand new. By the way, even in full zoom, they don't come back.

On which map did you find those "new details"? On the OSM standard map (see the layers menu on www.openstreetmap.org?

On this map: http://osm.org/go/0HoGMMCA--?relation=2618040 I still see names such as Kuhwerder hafen, Vorhafen, etc. This means that the information is still there

Well, interesting Map. But the names of the banks are not included there, either. It's a pity, they removed it. maybe they considered it to look cluttered?

abr01, even the Ostlicher Binnengraft ist zu sehen, like escada has mentioned earlier. What do you mean with banks ? Wich ones are missing ? The Lotsekai ist auch da. I just found them on the OSM Slippy map. Did you try to use zoomlevel 19 ? That could be your solution to see all the details.

for your first link: "Stettiner Ufer" and "Roeloffsufer" (and more waterway=bank) are still there in the data but apparently it is not rendered any more on the standard layer (I guess you mean it). Maybe it was a mistake to render it before. Maybe it is a mistake to render it not, now.

Other map styles based on the same OSM data exist and everybody is free to produce their own map: A comparision which shows the current osm.org Standard "Mapnik" style (top left) and three other styles which show the "Stettiner Ufer". Update: now only the "Mapnik b/w" still shows the "Stettiner Ufer".

However, if you want to discuss (and suggest changes or report bugs) the standard OSM style see the this wiki page section.

indeed, waterway=bank is not rendered, see http://stefanosabatini.eu/doesitrender/#waterway=bank In an older map style many more things with a name tag appeared on the map. This has changed not too long ago I've read.
