Hi

I've been doing a small amount to work in my home country, the Isle of Man.

In OSM rendering the name is correct (Isle of Man), but in http://geojson.io/ which uses OSM data it appears as Isle of Man (UK)which is wrong. Its not part of the UK, and makes it a problem when producing maps for the Island. It must be appearing in an OSM database as UK. Can anyone suggest how to change it.

Cheers

Andy

According to Nomiantim's page about the Isle of Man there is no reference to the UK and no other national border containing it. So I guess this is a problem of geojson.io or their data source (which seems to be MapBox).

It was reported twice to Mapbox, https://github.com/mapbox/geojson.io/issues/315 and https://github.com/mapbox/geojson.io/issues/316 , but in both cases they claim it's a "bug" in OSM data.

I suspect whoever closed #316 did so without engaging brain; it may, indeed be an error in some data in OSM, but if Nominatim says one thing and geojson.io says another it's up the data provider for geojson.io to point the finger at the offending data in OSM rather than just pretend that there is no problem.

I've added a comment to #316 at geojson.io to mention this.
