Copying, pasting shapes (areas, lines, nodes) in iD editor

Hi,

Is it possible to clone/duplicate/copy the elements in the editor?

There are some areas that have almost identical buildings in arrays and sometimes even with no different in the rotation. Doing them one by one seems a bit less convenient than copying them. Since I am only specifying the street for the address (don't know the number of the buildings) it makes sense to be able to copy things.

Any thoughts on this?

Best Regards,

Hi Aram, I don’t know for ID but in JOSM it’s possible, rotate, mirror and copying, but keep an eye on the correct tags. Otherwise you end up copying things you don’t won’t too. Read this as well before you start editing, https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Josm Just have a look and consider this editor (JOSM) instead of ID. Or use ID to gather information and edit in JOSM.

Within iD editor you can use CTRL-C to copy, CTRL-V to paste. Not sure if this is official, but this and many more shortcuts are documented here: https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/ID/Shortcuts
