Hi all. I would like to report a footpath in Parma Province (Italy). The footpath coincides in part with a road already marked in OSM (from http://www.openstreetmap.org/node/2280873356 to http://www.openstreetmap.org/node/991075373) How should I trace the path? I have to retrace the road? Thanks

Please tag all the parts (ways) between the Sentiero del Groppo di Gorro, CAI Parma 830 and the gravel track all together with the Chiesa di Gorro and mark them as a route in the advanced menu, if its a loop. It’s called a relation. By doing that there is no need to retrace all the roads after all, just add the relation to the way in the relation menu. Everything will stay in the database. And yes the Sentiero del Groppo should get the relation as well. Look here http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Relations/Routes#Walking_routes_.28also_hiking_and_pilgrimage.29

Thanks for your answer. I added the tag "foot" in advanced menu. I have also added a relation. I ask you to check if it is correct.

Please check if you used the name tag correctly. Name is the name only. You should not add any descriptions or categories to the name. If the way doesn't have an official or local name, then don't add any name at all.
