What is the best way to add areas for buildings that contain multiple shops on the lower level, with multiple flats on several more levels above the shops?

Ideally I'd like to add the shop names, as well as address information for the flats.

Thanks :)

Hi, use nodes to add the shop names and other data and the addresses of the apartments as well. Take a look here http://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=18/51.83702/4.96108 theres a mall with shops and appartments.

Thanks for the info, that looks like the cleanest way to do the layout, I'll give it a go.
