There is a road in my town that shows up on the map as a thru road from one intersection (intersection 1) to the next intersection (intersection 2). That is not the case. In the midpoint between intersection 1 and intersection 2 is a permanent barrier (a guardrail) that prevents a person attempting to navigate thru. The break or barrier on this road can be seen on the satellite image, but the road layer is drawn as a thru road. What is the best way to illustrate or change this issue on the map using the tools available? Please note, I am new to OpenStreetMap and attempting my first correction. asked 01 Mar '14, 14:56 Loco335 aseerel4c26 ♦ |
Very simple: add a node to the road at the position and tag it as a barrier. To do this you can use the online editor on openstreetmap.org (you will need an account). answered 01 Mar '14, 18:04 SimonPoole ♦ you also might want to go through the first steps of http://learnosm.org/

And if you don't want to fix yourself, add a note at the relevant location and describe what is there and from where you got this knowledge (it should be from being/looking at the location, not from other maps). Some days, weeks, months later someone will fix it or ask an additional question about. answered 02 Mar '14, 00:10 aseerel4c26 ♦ |
