Hello all,

As part of a research project for North Yorkshire County Council, I am enquiring to see if there is potential within OSM to facilitate residents reporting potholes and other highways faults.

For example, could a local authority embed an OSM map on its website and allow residents wihtin the county to report potholes. Other residents would then be able to see previously reported potholes (with an aim to clicking on the fault and it displaying relevant history / repair information).

Something similar to what Kent County Council are doing here (zoom in to see yellow fault triangles):

Kind regards,

Hendrikklaas makes it sound awkward and difficult - he could not be more wrong. Using OSM as you suggest would be excellent and straightforward. I live in East Yorks and would be happy to help you. You can contact me by email on osm@raggedred.net
