Is there an easy way to find out what the feature is of a specific object. This will make it easy to edit the styles and to find out the exact objects I want on the map.

what do you mean by "what the feature is of a specific object" and "edit the styles"?

You can get to an object's "browse page" fairly easily by doing the following:

Zoom in on the area that you're interested in, for example http://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=19/52.08726/1.45059

Select "Map Data" from the layers menu

Click on the obect that you're interested in. The URL at the top will change to for example http://www.openstreetmap.org/node/2185638204

You can then look at other objects, or untick "Map Data" to go back to a normal map.
