In Potlach 2 I could see the history of an object by just pressing In iD, pressing How to see the history of object (area/line/point) in the iD in-browser editor? Context: It seems to me that the shape of a building is out-of-date, but I want to check when it was committed and with what commit message, because maybe they know better than me, or maybe they just copied from a map background a long time ago. asked 23 Feb '14, 07:52 Nicolas Raoul |
An in-editor history popup has recently been added. You can press ctrl+shift+h or ctrl+i to access it. While it does not show full history right away, there's a convenient history link in that popup. answered 10 Nov '17, 17:54 Richlv |
It seems like iD doesn't support showing the history of an element at the moment. I can't find any corresponding button and also the list of iD keyboard shortcuts doesn't contain it. But after selecting an element there is a link View on openstreetmap.org in the lower left corner. You can follow it and click on View History. answered 23 Feb '14, 09:50 scai ♦ |
just a detail, which easily gets forgotten: taken strictly, you need to look at the history of the nodes of the building way, because they make up the shape and could get edited by someone without touching the building way.
