Why a new node in Verona has name Quinzano? This is the note: Free wi-fi Palazzo Barbieri, Piazza Bra, Quinzano, Verona, VR, Veneto, 37125, Italia Thanks asked 01 Feb '14, 22:55 linda comerlati |
I guess the nominatim reverse-geocoding for http://www.openstreetmap.org/node/2648597457 is meant. This is displayed via a search for "Free wi-fi Palazzo Barbieri":
This is also visible at
http://nominatim.openstreetmap.org/details.php?place_id=9161955595 I guess (I am really not a Nominatim expert) this may be because there are place=suburb outside Verona, but not (more near) inside Verona. And the next suburb to the Palazzo node is the one named "Quinzano". So nominatim uses this suburb as a refinement of the location description. Maybe there are also some boundary relations not correctly mapped. It is not a problem for you, linda, just do not care about it now. It is not related to your edit. Please better ask such highly specific questions in our forum or chat next time. answered 02 Feb '14, 02:02 aseerel4c26 ♦ Ok thank you

Yes, this should be caused by the Quinzano suburb. It seems to be the nearest suburb and it is not mapped as an area but just as a single node. Therefore Nominatim has no way of knowing its size and has to guess instead.

What’s wrong with it ? Please clarify your question.
I inserted a node in the city centre of Verona but when I exit the modify page and look for it, the browser finds it but says it is in Quinzano (a small town close to Verona) thank you
off topic: your tag
amenity=free_wi-fi
is not used anywhere else on the world. You would better use:internet_access=wlan
andinternet_access:fee=no
