how to remove a line JUST between two nodes?

0

I'm running into an issue where a line goes through an apartment complex which is different properties from the apartments adjacent to them. However every time I try to remove a line JUST between two nodes, it keeps removing the entire line with all of the notes.

Am I missing something? I want to keep the north part of the line and south part of the line, they are just on two separate properties. Help!

The procedure is very similar to changing properties (name, direction, …) of only a part of a way. See this older question (and the even older questions, I've linked to, there). After splitting, just delete the new part of the way instead of changing its tags (like in the other questions).

The important hint here is that you have to split the way first.

After checking the different sources, you could remove a short part of the road, colliding with the building area, by using the scissor or cutting tool. Just cut the way by pointing the nodes next to the building. So you’ll end up with 2 ways to the building. But be sure that the road has not become a covered way or tunnel ! If so you’ll still have to cut the way into 3 different parts to tag it correctly.
