Hello, we are film company and we have upcoming TV series starting from Sunday, we are looking for a base for showing destinations on map, and we would like to use OSM with MapQuest layer turned on. The only way how to do that is to take screenshots and afterwards blend the map together in image editing software.

Is it allowed to use OSM with MapQuest layer turned on in our production and what are conditions for crediting that ?

hmm, I found this forum on MapQuest support page, and there are some threads about using their tiles for offline apps, but my project is just using the visuals of MapQuest so not sure wether there are some regulations for that. Ofcourse I will credit MapQuest in credits. I also wrote to them request for using their visual map for my project, so now I am waiting for response to come. There are link to thread: http://developer.mapquest.com/web/products/open/forums/-/message_boards/view_message/545617

Great that you want to use OSM maps! We like to see our maps being used!

Regarding OSM maps in general those previous questions should help you:

For MapQuest layer (I try to explain in short: they, MapQuest, make a map using OSM data) see MapQuest's terms. The general terms apparently are there - found via the mapquest link on the bottom of your map on osm.org. But I do not know if those also cover the "mapquest open" layer. See SomeoneElse's link below to the terms for MapQuest Open. You may also want to look at http://open.mapquest.com/ . Maybe you could find previous relevant questions here about MapQuest - I could not in a quick search.

Maybe you would like to instead use for example GIScience Heidelberg's Road map which is "available under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 2.0 license" (attribution of OpenStreetMap is still needed of course).

I think that these are the "open Mapquest" terms.
