[closed] For a POI, how to specify a thumbnail picture?

In an OSM XML file, is there any way to add a picture URL to a POI?

For instance, for a hotel I would add a picture of the hotel facade.

This would be useful to show thumbnails on maps, like Wikivoyage can do.

If hosting is a problem, we could do like Wikivoyage and require that all URLs point to Wikimedia Commons.
Example: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Mori_tower.jpg

This seems to be the same as attaching-photos-to-nodes. Please see there. Or is there anything special with XML here? But you mean the ordinary OSM database, right?

No, it is not about the OSM database. This OSM XML file will be used by apps like OsmAnd. Your answer answers my question, thank you! I will add image keys that contain URLs to Wikimedia Commons images.

Okay, thank you for the feedback. So in essence it is the same as if these tags would be added to the OSM database (although I am a bit confused about your usecase, I thought OsmAnd is fed by extracts from our database).

You can add custom data layers to OsmAnd :-)
