Georgie49

Google Translate :-Is it possible to install these maps on a Garmin Kenwood DNX-5240BT? Normally this is done via DVD. If it can, how should I proceed? I would just install the maps of Benelux, France and Germany, rather than throughout Western Europe.

Kind regards and thanks in advance, Georgie49

@georgie49 If you can get the DVD out of it, can you have a look at it on a computer? What files and folders are there on it?

English original text: Reading this (dead link) (→ latest archive version) suggests it is an expensive device. If it had a USB port it may have been possible to look to see if the map files are of garmin.img type. Another possibility is to open the map CD with a PC to see if it uses .img files if it does it may be possible make a CD with the same files as the original with the .img file replaced with an .img file from "OSM on garmin" in Wiki. The danger is that it will lock up the device. Maybe somebody as already tried OSM on the DNX5240BT and can tell us if they were successful.
