I am trying to use the photo mapping feature describe in the Potlatch/Photo-mapping article. When I click Load photos button, nothing happens. How is it supposed to work? asked 09 Feb '11, 20:05 ponzu |
It's not very clearly explained on that page, but the photos are loaded by default from the OpenStreetPhoto project. If they don't have any photos for your area, then nothing shows up. You can either add your photos to that service, or use a different one that also provides a kml file in the correct format. You can make your own kml file for your own photos, as described on the page. When you know what the url for the kml file is, you click the settings button and add it to the correct section. Currently there is no photomapping support in Potlatch2. answered 10 Feb '11, 09:44 Andy Allan Thanks. Using each service, OpenStreetPhoto and MapPIN, I zoomed out to a pretty generous area and nothing showed up. I just want to see one photo show up so I know it works, then I can start adding photos to either service. Can you - or anyone - give me a step-by-step, starting with coordinates, to see a photo, any photo, pop up? Thanks!
