shp files for Mexico and Russia

Is there any link where I can get .shp files for Mexico and Russia. I can see these countries in the OpenStreetMap with a quite nice level of the details, but I am not able to find a link from which it would be possible do download the shape files (.shp).

The words Mexico and Russia in the answer are clickable links to the CloudMade download pages. You'll find the shapefiles listed there with a name like russian-federation.shapefiles.zip
