feature "show mouse latitude/longitude" (in Potlatch 2 under Options) shows only longitude. E.g. if I am with my mouse at N 44.87776° W 110.15264° I just see the data for 110.15264 but I have a blanc field for the 44.87776 data.

Why is this or how can I change it?

Why is there no - in front of the 110.15264 data? It should show a negative number.

Is your problem the same as lat-lon-incomplete-in-in-potlatch – it sounds like? Could you please check?
