How to find GPS coordinates?

0

How can I search for GPS coordinates? If I type 48.00890 106.44699 in the search field I see a place in Mongolia but the place is in USA, Montana near Glasgow. (N 48.00890 W 106.44699). If I find the place myself on the map and look to "show mouse latitude/longitude" field, I see the correct data I used for searching.

How do I have to type the coordinates correct so that OSM can find the correct place?

type in 48.00890,-106.4469 . You are west of the reference meridian - so it needs to be negative.
