I downloaded a queensland map from osm. It is zip file with 4 individual img files. I understand that i can only transfer 1 gmapsupp.img file to my garmin nuvi 205. How do i merge the 4 files? Hope someone can help. Thanks.

Thanks for the hints. I downloaded the map from http://www.osmaustralia.org/garmin.php . I will at the same time look for another Garmin OSM map provider that gives one img file. Thanks

@aariz: I am not sure, but I guess that those files need some further processing before they can be thrown onto a Garmin device (for example by the tool mentioned on the site's howto page). Look for a service which offers a gmapsupp.img file.

I haven't tried merging or stitching multiple .img files but these links may help...

Please see the instructions at OSM_Map_On_Garmin#What if I have an existing gmapsupp.img file?. It gives you advice how to merge (if your device really can only handle one .img – I do not know).

However, you may want to simply try another Garmin OSM map provider. Try e.g. http://garmin.openstreetmap.nl/ and either download whole Australia or manually select the parts which you would like to use.
