I first started tracing this South Korean Island using Yahoo.

http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=37.7935&lon=126.2644&zoom=13&layers=M

I've since realised that Bing imagery is available for this island, and would like to use that, but it's offset to Yahoo. I suspect the Bing imagery is actually the correct one, but I can't be sure.

In any case, without any external point of truth, I would like to shift my existing work to match the Bing imagery, and keep tracing from there, because the Bing imagery is so much better to trace from.

If you do not have any gps traces of your own, to use as a reference point, perhaps a question of how to search the traces database for traces of your area would help.I would not move map unless sure

I would recommend aligning your work with "real" GPS traces, if available.

If those were not available you will have absolutely no indication which imagery is better aligned with the reality.

So I would suggest shifting the Bing imagery to align with the previous Yahoo traces if the Yahoo imagery was sufficiently detailed to do any traces. For shifting the imagery in Potlatch 2 hold the space key and drag the imagery. Unfortunately, you will have to do this every time you open Potlatch 2. So it might be a good idea to place a node on some pointy landmark and put a note tag there, e.g. note=calibration point for Bing .
