Hi I've seen in certain areas there are a lot of points marked as Tag:tourism=information that are actually just directional signs on mountain paths. I attach a picture to be clear. Is this correct? In some cases/areas these signs are numbered and can be used as a reference, but mostly they aren't. I wonder if they should be left as they are, changed to information=guidepost or removed when they have no number/reference.

If they're further tagged "information=guidepost" that sounds OK to me.

Ok, thanks. Is there a way to know who added the tag to ask him to do things properly? If this continues it's gonna be a mess since one will not be able to discern from real informative panels and signs. Also, is there a way in ID to search for all the already inserted signs to fix them? Searching by eye isn't very practical.

Look at www.openstreetmap.org/user/docdoc/edits and select the changeset you made. Then click on the ways at "Has the following X ways" to see their editing history. Or select the object from the map and select Overlays/Data at the blue/white "+" in the upper right corner. Then select Load Data in the Data frame. And click on the object you want to inspect directly in the map, and touch Show History in the Data frame. In P2 select a node and press H, their should be a similar tool in ID.

To see who added a sign that you've noticed in iD, do the following:

Down at the bottom left hand side of the iD window you'll see a "View on openstreetmap.org" option:

iD

Click that, and you'll be taken to a browse node page like:

http://www.openstreetmap.org/browse/node/1922390860

where you can see who the last editor was, and also click "View History" to see previous edits.

I don't know of a way to search for all nodes of a certain type in a certain area within iD, but outside you can use Overpass Turbo. In the search window search for the area that you're interested in (or just move the window there) then click "run". You can also get to Overpass Turbo from taginfo (the steering wheel to the right of the JOSM link).
