Hi everyone,

I am working on an educational product in collaboration with a Civic Trust and a School of Architecture in the UK. The aim of the product is to teach students basic architectural skills and apply them to analyse and appreciate the heritage of their town.

I will be using two maps: an A2 which will be printed and made available to students and an A1 which will available online, at the product's website, both of which will be free of charge. The minor complication is that I do receive some payment to coordinate the final design stages and production of the product, but its content will be distributed to all local school for free.

Can I still use data from OpenStreetMap and if so, how can I credit the OSMap in print and web form?

Thank you.

See openstreetmap.org/copyright for details on how to credit OSM:

We require that you use the credit “© OpenStreetMap contributors”... In media where links are not possible (e.g. printed works), we suggest you direct your readers to openstreetmap.org (perhaps by expanding 'OpenStreetMap' to this full address), to opendatacommons.org, and if relevant, to creativecommons.org.

In general, your aim should be possible.

There are even some Commercial_OSM_Software_and_Services who offer digital and printed maps derived from OSM data, and they get payed for theit knowhow and work. But the data or maps are still free according to each licence.

Some FAQs are here: Legal_FAQ

Also search this FAQ site for "attribution", "licence", "commercial" or similar keywords.
