No matter where I am in the world when I visit OSM, I always find myself centered over the UK. It would be nice if there was support for the HTML5 Geolocation API, so that the map could automatically center over my current location (if I choose to share it). At the very least, a button with "locate me", would be nice. BTW if there is a better place for feature requests, please let me know (I am a bit new to OSM). asked 22 Aug '13, 12:36 ajmas |
Geolocation is already available. In the toolbar on the right of the map, click on the 3rd icon down (the little arrow), for "Show My Location". This will use your browser's geolocation, and show the map for your current location. For feature requests, the correct place is to add an issue on openstreetmap-website on Github. It is worth searching to see if an issue has been reported previously. Specifically, see this recent issue about options for geolocation: Rationalize multiple "locate me" type functions answered 22 Aug '13, 12:43 Vclaw 1
Thanks. I never noticed that. The next evolution would be a setting to ask whenever IP address changes?
