Hi, Using the by Mio recommended http://www.gpsies.com/convert.do , XML files from http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/DK:Bicycle/Network-Routes are not recognized. How can that be? I need a GPX file for Mio. So I tried download the direct GPX version of the file from the above page, but it gave me a gpx.jsp file, which puzzles me too. Hope you can help. asked 12 Aug '13, 16:15 hherskind aseerel4c26 ♦ |
That's because osmrm.openstreetmap.de - the service used to convert a relation to a GPX file - returns a 503 error. As an alternative you can use cycling.waymarkedtrails.org, go to the area you are interested in, open the route widget on the bottom right and select the route you are interested in. There you can also find a GPX download of the selected route. answered 12 Aug '13, 16:38 scai ♦ 2
@scai. I thank you very, very much! I fought with this for hours, speaking also to Mio about it. They recommended the http://www.gpsies.com/convert.do, but as the XML file was not recognized there, I thought something was very wrong. And you pointed that out! Secondly I went to http://cycling.waymarkedtrails.org/ via Firefox. Here nothing happens, when clicking on the preferred route. Rather peculiar. Next I copied the link to IE. And here everything was shining. I got the direct GPX file, loaded it to Mio Cyclo 305, and it all worked! Respect for you insight knowledge!

Which actual route did you get a problem with?
If you open the file that you downloaded with a text editor, what do the first few lines look like?
(for info XML posted here won't work in the preview but should display OK)
