The area has been left open, all structures have been removed and the growth has taken over. I’ll consider landuse - forest, leisure - garden, old-name - zoo, old_use - ? There’s a specific tag for old railway lines, but for landuse ? Or just don’t ad a tag to specify the earlier use ? asked 11 Aug '13, 00:45 Hendrikklaas gormo |
I would use the disused prefix (see http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Disused) disused:tourism=zoo old_name=... (with an underscore, not a dash) perhaps add some access=yes/no and tag the current use with leisure=park or garden. answered 11 Aug '13, 11:22 escada 1
Or if the growth has really taken over and nobody really goes there anymore: natural=scrub. I doubt that it has grown any mature trees yet (natural=wood), and it certainly isn't used to grow and harvest wood (landuse=forest), aka the forestry industry.

hi Vincent, I didnt consider forest as a tag an area to harvest wood. What you describe sounds more like wood. Nor scrub as trees. Scrub is small 1 - 3 / 5 m high, a tree becomes taller. The area just needs a strimmer to clear the ways.
