Right, so up to a couple of days ago you could select an area to export, the scale to export, and the file format of the export and you could note down the geographical co-ordinates of the exported file. Now, suddenly and inexplicably, this has been changed to that you can only "export" to a single format, manually selecting the area (giving geographical coordinates), or you can "share" an area, which you can manually choose the area and scale and file format - but without the geographical coordinates - meaning you have to go to Wikimapia to manually establish the geographical extent of the file. This has to be one of the most unproductive "upgrades" in the history of OpenStreetMap. asked 08 Aug '13, 18:37 JohnArmagh aseerel4c26 ♦ |

Formats other than .osm can be found inside the share menu at the new sidebar on the right (currently PNG, JPEG, SVG and PDF). answered 10 Aug '13, 09:45 abbedabb Yes, I know - but it doesn't give the coordinates like the export utility does - so you can either export to png or have the coordinates - not both, as you could before the rather ill-conceived upgrade was implemented.

The help site is thw wrong place for reporting bugs (or venting your anger). Please submit an issue either here https://trac.openstreetmap.org/newticket?component=website or here https://github.com/openstreetmap/openstreetmap-website answered 08 Aug '13, 23:37 SimonPoole ♦ |
Hmm, there is no question or problem, right? Or is the question "how to get back the old image export featureof osm.org"?
