Why is there a huge difference between these maps and Mapster?

0

I was verifying maps in OSM in order to edit them and I noticed that there is a great difference in part of the region I was reviewing, elevations do not coincide at all. Mapster appears to be closer to how the terrain is. Does anybody know the reason?

OpenStreetMap itself does not record elevation (except for mountain peaks usually). So please explain exactly what you were comparing to what.

Also, which "Mapster" are you talking about here? A quick search of the Internet suggests a couple of candidates. Also (if it's relevant, depending on answer to the first part) where did it's data come from?
