I was verifying maps in OSM in order to edit them and I noticed that there is a great difference in part of the region I was reviewing, elevations do not coincide at all. Mapster appears to be closer to how the terrain is. Does anybody know the reason? asked 08 Aug '13, 02:01 ECR |
OpenStreetMap itself does not record elevation (except for mountain peaks usually). So please explain exactly what you were comparing to what.
Also, which "Mapster" are you talking about here? A quick search of the Internet suggests a couple of candidates. Also (if it's relevant, depending on answer to the first part) where did it's data come from?
