Is it appropriate to retrace features made using old bing imagery with bing 2012 imagery?

There is inconsistent tracing around my area, where some people have traced features via the old 2000-4~ bing images and some people more recently have changed/added features using the newer bing 2012 images. Using my phone to collect some gps tracks it looks like the newer images are more accurate so im wondering if it is fine to go ahead and edit existing features to fit the more accurate aerial images?

Of course you are always welcome to improve existing features. Just make sure you have up-to-date information about the feature (which is the case here) and that aerial images are aligned correctly (which you seem to have checked using your gps traces).
