hi, I don't really know if it is a problem, but I want to load a static map from open.mapquestapi.com and transform it with PHP to a 3d object. The map should show the location of the user, detemined by the ip address. Because of the distortion, I cannot be sure, that the copyright notice is readable for the user. May it be enough to render the map a little bit bigger that the copyright notice is definitely cut, but readd a copyright notice on the edge of my 3d map? As this is a pure image, I cannot link to osm or mapquest, so I want to display the link to osm on the contributors page, that is linked on every other page. Is this enough? Do I have to include the mapquest logo too? And if so, may I transform it to a nicer 3d version that fits the image? asked 21 Jun '13, 08:48 Oliver closed 25 Jun '13, 14:23 cartinus |

You need to add attribution for OSM. What is required from the MapQuest side, you need to ask MQ. answered 24 Jun '13, 22:15 SimonPoole ♦ |
Note that you will not get legally binding advice here; please read the licenses yourself. If linking is not possible then following the advice for printed works should be okay (since the problem is similar). For mapquest tiles/rendering please look at their license/copyright requirements (I could not find the relevant page). answered 24 Jun '13, 22:31 aseerel4c26 ♦ @SimonPoole: this is an answer (like yours is, by the way) - not a comment, thanks for not again converting to a comment. meta: you've mis-clicked on "close" - fixed.
MQ attribution is clearly outside of the scope of this site.
and you mis-clicked again. We want people to use and be happy with OSM, right? So, please, think again.
