I have created clean .gpx files for Filetto Way, Walpole, MA, US and Falcone Lane, Walpole, MA, US.

I upload the traces which are very simple (road is well defined by first and last point).

However, the traces first appear with pending, and then disappear.

What am I missing?

Thanks!

OK: it looks like Gamin's Mapsource does not produce GPX files with time stamps and OpenStreetMaps wants timestamps in the GPX files.

I edited in timestamps with wordpad and all seems to work now.

Not sure what's happening here - I regularly transfer data from a Garmin device using Mapsource (version 6.13.7) via "transfer / receive from device", save as GPX, and upload without problems.

Many mappers use a program called gps babel to down load and process their traces. Time stamps are required. They are a witness to a walked, driven or ridden survey and not just a tracing from another map. It is not a good idea to create them with a text editor. see http://www.gpsbabel.org/
