How can I change the scale of a selected part of a map. I always get the message: "The load average on the server is too high at the moment. Please wait a few minutes before trying again." I get this message all over the day. So, where is my mistake?

Thanks for answering.

It has nothing to do with the scale. It is just a high server load. Many people are requesting images/maps at the same time. And OSM doesn’t have the resources (money) to afford a better server.

Depending on what you want to do, there may be other "export" or "share" options that might work. The site can be a bit confusing, but perhaps if you explain what you're trying to do we might be able to help?
