Hi, When is it appropriate for two buildings to share the same edge. I am currently tracing building footprints from satellite imagery. If two buildings share a wall -- as in a row of townhouses -- would they share an edge on the traced footprint? Most mappers will make building edges share nodes if they share a wall in reality, no matter whether these are structurally two independent walls touching each other, or a single wall. (Most mappers are not civil engineers.) There's a plugin for the JOSM editor called "Terracer" that lets you draw the outline of a regular block of houses and then subdivide that into individual buildings. answered 02 May '13, 08:00  Frederik Ramm ♦ |
