Editing an area on local pc (potlatch)

Hello. I am using Potlatch. I want to ask if I could load some selected area and edit it on local pc using potlatch. If its impossible with potlatch, could you help me to find some editor which could do it. Thank you.

You are not very clear in what you want. Because: Potlatch runs on your local pc and loads data to be edited to your local pc. However, it has no "offline" mode - it is intended to be run "online" (with a permanent connection to the net). Do you mean such an offline editing ability?
