Hi

Can someone point me to a file that has all the cities for Canada and the U.S. The ones I keep finding confuse me as they got like one city listed multiple times with slightly different coordinates and I have no clue which one to use.

Try naturalearthdata.com where they have a curated list of populated places that you can use.

I downloaded the ne_10m_populated_places_simple but not sure how to open the .dbf file. Do they have like excel sheets and can you filter down to only a certain country? Also the file seems so small compared to other ones the full version is like 1.51 MB compared to the couple hundred megs to over a gb that I seen.

it also seems to be missing many cities. Heck my city I live in with a population of 200,000+ is not even listed.
