Someone wants to to a fix a set of spelling errors in values of a specific key. The current rules say that mass edits should be discussed with the local community, but what to do if someone wants to fix the errors in the whole database? |

What this page actually says is "outline it beforehand and discuss it on a suitable mailing list (a regional, national or international list depending on the scope of your planned change". I'd suggest an international list if the scope is international. If we're really talking about unambiguous spelling errors it's likely that there'll be little or any resistance, but changes that haven't been thought through will be opposed (for example, a global change of "MacDonald's" to "McDonald's" that doesn't consider that there might be a "Hamish MacDonald's Porridge Shop" somewhere in Scotland would be clearly the wrong thing to do). 2
