Ciao a tutti. Please wait a few minutes before trying again.".

How to export a map from OpenStreet? I'm trying to extract the images of the maps by using the "Export" function. I select the area that I want to extract, I set the scale, I set the type of file, but I get an error message: "The load average on the server is too high at the moment. Please wait a few minutes before trying again." .

I wanted to know: it is a problem of my computer or it's a funcion that has not yet been enabled by the site?

Thank you very much

Thanks for the English translation. I'm not aware, however, that asking questions in English is "one of the rules of the forum" - I'm only aware of this, which doesn't say anything of the sort. Some OSM areas (the #osm IRC channel, for example) are English-specific, but this isn't one of them.

Although an English translation may draw the eye of non-Italian speakers, I'd also continue to include the Italian text as well in any questions, as someone with a knowledge of both languages might very well get a better sense of the problem from the Italian original than from a machine-translated version.

The "why does 'export' not work when I try and use it" question has been asked a number of times in the past - search this site for "export" and you'll see a list. In that list you'll also see other suggestions for how you might be able to do what you're trying to.

Most of the answers will be in English but as I'm sure you're aware you'll be able to roughly translate the text of each answer by using something like "http://translate.google.com/".

See, more specifically, that other question: error-export-load-average-on-the-server-is-too-high-at-the-moment (English too).

This is a previous answer below. I would export smaller overlapping sections and then join them with micrososoft ice which is free and works great https://help.openstreetmap.org/answer_link/1796/

Hi Mario, thanks, did you look at this site ? http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/w/index.php?search=exporting+OSM+maps&title=Special%3ASearch&fulltext=1 There should be an answer for your question somewhere. Or just ad your question how to export OSM maps, in the blank window on top of this question menu right below the dark blue Qestions. Keep mapping
