I recently found out about OSM and want to help build the map for my area. I own a Sony GPS-CS1 and an iPhone 4. What is the best way to log the roads I drive then upload that to OSM to ensure the roads are there and in the right place. One Answer:
Uploading traces and Editing the map are two different things as far as OSM is concerned. So uploading a trace won't affect the map directly (you need to edit the map to add new roads), and also it's possible to add roads to the map using alternative sources of data such as aerial imagery.
