I stumbled over a specific example of landuse. It’s a small pond surrounded by trees or a forest with small branches of water to catch ducks and other water birds. Nowadays mostly used for tagging water birds for studying migration patterns. I didn’t find a tag or example in the Wiki, I would like to tag it landuse - decoy, name - Bartelskooi (Bartelscage) any idea or suggestions ? We got several of them in Holland. Take a look here http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=53.40694&lon=5.40496&zoom=16&layers=M, there 3 of them here close to each other.

I've been reading a bit about decoy ponds and think that you could probably tag them as natural=water, water=decoy, name=Bartelskooi (Bartelscage) in a similar way to how the wiki suggests lakes can be tagged natural=water, water=lake, name=whatever.

The trees I would probably tag as landuse=forest.

Ed, thanks I’ll do. Where did you find decoy in the Wiki ? It wasn’t there when I asked for it and the Wiki came back with the suggestion make a page. In the menu (questions) wasn’t a sign of decoy as been asked before. Nor a tag on the map, most of the ponds is tagged by bot, without the essential cage canals and I’ve seen several. Your suggestion is a good one, just ad a tag, I’m new and stumble every now and then over strange situations, like this one. Greetz

According to taginfo a couple only have been mapped (both as amenity, which sounds like a bad idea to me). Ed's "water=decoy" sounds better (or maybe "water=pond; pond=decoy" since the central bit is essentially a pond.

I didn't find decoy in the OpenstreetMap wiki, but in wikipedia (click the link "decoy ponds" above). I did also consider SomeoneElse's suggestion of natural=water, water=pond, pond=decoy), which might be better but uses an extra tag - if there are areas of water that are decoys that aren't ponds though, such as a decoy lake, then the extra tag level is probably worth adding.
