Indexes created by OSM2PGSQL

Hello,

I have some problem after appending an OSM file to an already existing DB in Postgis created by osm2pgsql. After appending I have no indexes, like primary key or spatial index.

My question is: How can I update them? What are the columns osm2pgsql is creating the indexes on?
