Im wish to tag an safety chimney at an industrial plant. Whats the best way to tag it, man_made - chimney or man_made - flare, or a combination of both tags ? The chimney is part of a man_made tower look here, http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=53.242152&lon=6.686396&zoom=18&layers=M. IMHO is a combination of those tags just to many times man_made. In this case the use of the chimney is to reduce pressure, not a permanent flare to burn waste gas as part of a refineryproces. Greetz

Similar to what you said, DE:How_to_map_a suggests man_made=tower and tower:type=chimney which sounds reasonable. I would not tag it differently from that. Do you want to go for tower:type=pressure_reducing_chimney? That will not really have that much uses?! Also see values for tower:Type.
