I'd like to tag the area on which the Research Centre Jülich, Germany, resides. It is a big area with many buildings. So far, it is tagged with landuse=grass but this is only correct for small patches within. landuse=industrial doesn't seem right because it is public non-profit research.

Hi Bronger, You could tag the fields in between (islands) multipolygones inner versus outer, if its right with key amenity - value Research_Centre The same way a campus with buildings has been tagged before and is mentioned in the Wiki. Greetz

Of the tags in use, I'd probably go for "landuse=commercial" rather than industrial. Alternatively, you could have a look at similar facilities like this one (no clues there though), or pick something yourself that seems appropriate.
